E-Waste Recycling 2013 – Miri Branch

Computer Sales and Services Association, Sarawak, Miri Branch (CSSA Sarawak) will once again jointly organize E-Waste Re-Cycling Campaign with Miri City Council (MCC), in conjuction with Green Expo, which is part of Miri City Day Celebrations.

This exercise will be carried out at the following date, time and venue:-

Date: Saturday, 18th May, 2013

Time: 10.00am to 5.00pm

Venue: Carpark of Tamu Muhibbah, Miri (Next to MCC Padang).

Taking into consideration that this E-waste Re-Cycling Campaign is being held during Miri City Day Celebrations period, MCC has improved on the rewards to the public. Every 1 kilogram of E-Waste being contributed by the member of the public, MCC will exchange it with 1 piece of MCC’s Parking Coupon, worth RM0.42.

The public is also advised to take note that this Campaign’s scope has widen to include collection of household appliances and electrical items such as TVs, Air-Conditional, Fridges, Washing Machine, Hi-Fi set etc.

For Government Departments and Corporate bodies with bigger quantities (Minimum 300 kilograms and above) arrangements can be made by CSSA Sarawak to go and collect from the respective office.

Collection from Government Departments and Corporate Bodies will begin on Friday, 17th May, 2013 and the contributors can telephone our Organizing Chairman, Mr. Janson Yong on +6.016.8718821 or our Committee Member, Mr. Jackey Ho on +6017.8526899 to make the collection arrangements, the latest by Thursday, 16th May, 2013 at 05.00p.m.

The E-Waste Re-Cycling Contractor appointed by us for this campaign is registered and certified by National Resources Environment Board (NREB). They are qualified with the proper equipment to handle these waste disposals.

We sincerely hope that the general public in Miri will give us their fullest co-operation to dispose off their Electronic and Electric Waste in an environmentally-friendly manner. Your small contribution here will help to make Miri a “Greener City” where the environment and air we breathe can be cleaner and can contribute to the better health to all Mirians.
